Me and the misses went to a new bbq joint yesterday in Freeport, Me called "Bucks Naked BBQ". Let me tell ya man, Im new to bbquen but Ive got to say this stuff was guuuuuyooood!!!! Everything was served "naked", sauce served on the side. It was a new experience for us since were use to having boiled ribs, drowning in bbq sauce(i.e.Applebees,Chiles) They let me check out their smoker they use an offset Langs. Very nice atmosphere, was a Texas roadhouse feel to it. Service was as good as the food. If you guys ever come to Maine and go shopping at LLbeans in Freeport gotta stop into "Bucks" _________________ BIG DADDY |

I'll second that......plus they have cold PBR on tap.
In my opinion , though, the best BBQ in Maine is in Monson, just south of Moosehead Lake. Nice people....they have the best beans that I have ever had. In addition to this, you can bring your own beer. All in all, if this place wasn't three hours from where I live, I would eat there 2-3 times a week! |

We hit this place on the way to Bangor last weekend after a quick stop at LLBean.. I didn't see any offset, but I saw two small Cookshacks I think just inside the kitchen..
Wifey and I both ordered the Big Buck Combo plate (sausage, pulled pork, chopped brisket, 1/4 chicken.. very good food & service.. I was expecting to be disappointed and wasn't at all.. generous portions.. sausage appeared to be homemade.. 4 sauces on the table.. I preferred the standard red BBQ sauce.. (they had a mustard vinegar, NC vinegar, blueberry BBQ, and red BBQ)
nice atmosphere with a little kiddie play area.. I'd definitely go back..

| My wife and I hit that place 2 weeks ago. FAN-F'IN-TASTIC!!! We got the combo plate and the deep-fried sausage appetizer (yeah, I know, I have a death wish) and, I gotta say, I was shocked at how great it was. I wouldn't order the appetizer again (it was okay, just a bit over the top), and the beans were pretty plain, probably just from a can, but everything else was amazing, HUGE portions, and super-friendly folks. Interesting decor, as well. If you're up in Maine, hit it up, you won't be disappointed! |

Don't usually see so many good reviews on a que restaurant! I'd like to go just because of the name! _________________ Scooter

"Buck Naked", was George Costanza's (a-la Seinfield) first choice for a stage name if he ever became an adult film star.
Just sayin'.... _________________ Andy
