Anyone ever try making a self baster? I'm thinking some kind of container with a stainless steel tube hooked to it and a adjustable needle valve plumbed into the line then having it run inoi your smoking right above your turkey to give it a constant dip of some sort of flavor.

Already done! It's called "bacon", it comes in strips, and you just lay it all over whatever you want basted! Laughing Laughing

Still...it might be an interesting pursuit to come up with an automatic dripper that'll survive the inside of a cooker. Take plenty of pics! Very Happy

Cheers!

Thats pretty much what the OP had in mind. Everyone thinks about it at one time or another, but you just dont see a lot of cook pics featuring that technique. The discovery of bacon kind of solves everything.

No harm in rigging something up though, post the pics and tell us how it worked.

Rolling Eyes As for DavezSinck, please dont post pics of your special technique.
