|
|
3 gallons apple cider
1 bag of oranges (12 ish) thinly sliced
24 cinnamon sticks
24 all spice berries
whatever spirits you like, in whatever amount you feel you can handle, i prefer vodka or ever-clear but this time i am going to try tequila as well.
Add all ingredients except spirits to a pot and bring to a simmer, then serve hot in a glass with a cinnamon stick and a slice of orange and add spirits of your choice. This is enough for me, or small party. You can divide it down by 3rds for the same results in smaller batches.
P.S. The recipe is addictive and its also just as good without the spirits if plain is more your flavor. I will post finished pictures tomorrow after i get the batch brewed up in the morning.

I always make mulled cider [at least thats what i call it...]
capt morgan is the prolly my favorite for it....but almost any good spirit would be good....
mulling spices are available at stores this time a year...
but all you need is what is mentioned above...
you can add butter, sugar, clove, nutmug, and prolly a bunch of other things as well....
and now cider is in stores so its a good time to try it....
now if only i could find some Glühwein ....http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mulled_wine
this stuff is all over germany, and sometimes in liquer stores....its great.... |

Ha, Ha...I see Ellis county on that mug!! I could have skipped the first pictures and would have known it had the "good stuff" mixed in with it. _________________ "I grew up poor. It's the people who are born with money who jump out of windows."---Lee Trevino

looks good. I would down a mug or three of that.
I make mine very simliar. Per gallon 8 cinnamon sticks, 7 dried cloves, and a dash of nutmeg. Heat till nice and hot and pour in a mug with a shot or three of spice rum. I am fond of the captain for this but found admiral james works just as well at half the price _________________ "if you cant cook it in bacon grease it ain't worth eating"
