Well this last weekend I was on call for work so was basiclly grounded at home so took the time to finally get my Double Barrel Smoker Built. I had 2 goals in this. One, get a bigger smoker with things that I already had laying around, and 2 make it so that all parts would just bolt together so that any one part could be replaced with out a lot of effort.
Here are the barrels, (one with the paint all burned off the outside already, the second was burned later that day.) and all the framing.
Here is the front, Have to finish the lid and that is why it is not painted and have not put the shelf on it yet.
Side veiw
Did a initial burn in it and with the bottom door closed and all vents open it sits right at 250. Going to add a couple more vents to get it up to over 300 with the door closed and all vents open for when I smoke turkeys and chicken and give me the control to close them to get to a certain range. Over all very good first burn. Will be doing 2 turkeys tomorrow so will have more pic then.

From here that looks like a pair of beautifully smoked turkeys on a brand new cooker, scotsmn30! Great job by cook and cooker!

Awesome use of the two barrels. I've seen many barrel smokers before but this is the first one I've seen made this way.
Good job |
