Well...that's a common problem when you cook at such a low temp. Bump it up to around 1400 degrees next time and you should be fine.... _________________ Go Hokies! |

Sorry dude...thought this thread, as well as your last, was a joke. I mean, it has to be a joke...right?
Not sure I've ever heard of anyone running a smoker at 800 degrees.... _________________ Go Hokies! |

Wrap the whole fire box in 2 layers of foil and keep the temp running at 800 it should fuze the hole with the foil.In fact I found that wrapping the whole cooker works well for sealing any air leaks,It helps keep the burnt grease flavor sealed inside.
800 is kindof low.Add more grease for that "Down Home Flavor".
What happened to burning that bird in the deep fryer.
Should have stuck with plan A.
Hope it all works at.

I have read a few of these 800' temp post. Just curious if he is using an infrared and taking temp off the coals rather than temp inside the cooking chamber.
Although I must admit, they make a pretty comical read from all the post. |

I just want to see some pictures of what a "BRIZKIT" Nuked at 800 degrees looks like.
Should be pretty interesting. _________________ Lang 84 delux long neck chargrill.

dood see if you can crank the temp up just a tad higher. If you do perhaps the hole will become big enough you can stick your head in it to plug the gap _________________ "if you cant cook it in bacon grease it ain't worth eating"

Build your fire in the barrel, and put your meet in the firebox....now you've got a reverse flow cooker. Easy peasy.
Obviously, we're hear to help. _________________ Mike
