| Just got back from Memphis and Central BBQ is easily the best BBQ in the mid south! Their mustard sauce is served hot and is incredible. Anyone experienced this fine establishment before? Better yet, anyone got a recipe for this sauce or at least something similar? |

Thanks Toga! I have been diving into the site for sometime now. Just love all the info and advice you guys have to offer. Most of the time, if I look hard enough, all my questions have been answered in previous posts. After eating at Central, I thought I would throw the name out there and maybe you guys could take advantage of it if your ever in Memphis!
Im serious the mustard sauce is ridiculous! |

Made another batch of Roxy's tonight.
So good, and I don't even like mustard. |

| Central BBQ is the locals favorite bbq in Memphis. Everyone hears of corkys and rendevous, but i was born and raised there, and almost any local i know will tell you Central is the best. |

jbleezy,
I'm curious of what the locals think of Interstate BBQ there in Memphis. I've heard a lot about it but am interested in the opinion of a local. Sorry for the hijack. _________________ Traeger 075

prfsnaltailgater,
Interstate is not bad que, if you get a chance try Cozy Corner they are pretty good and have a great 4 bone lunch plate. Here in Memphis BBQ joints are on just about every corner, some are good and most of them are bad. Some of the best que you will find is at the tailgating parties and backyards. |

Yup my vote goes to Roxy's World Famous Sauce. Just did up a gallon yesterday for the holidays. Only thing I change is to cut out half the vinegar and replace it with apple juice. Good stuff for sure from a great man.

That is a one bone rib by the way. This is a recent picture taken while i was at the original Central bbq visiting over labor day. Are you kidding me, look how good those ribs were, along with the wings etc. Awesome!
Get half dry-half wet chicken wings to start. Then get a rack for two. DRY! Given there is two of you, adjust your order accordingly. Sides are all good.
As far as interstate, it is one of the better ones around town. It is always crowded so that tells you something. I used to like to get the rib tip plate there, and i will tell you it was strong. But IMO Central is the best. |
