|
|
Hey fellow Smoke Ring Q'ers. Long time lurker, first time poster. And I figured last Saturday's BBQ had to be my first post.
I had the worst day ever...and all I wanted to do was grill some meat and enjoy my Saturday with some friends at my house...here's how it all went down...
I woke up in the morning and brushed my teeth...
but burned my mouth on the hot water
Got in my daily exercise
Jumped into the shower
It's kinda chilly in the morning, so thankfully we have an electric hot water heater that warms the water up quickly...
Grabbed a cold glass of OJ and milk to get my day started off on the right foot...
I needed to run to the grocery store to get some meat and stop at the post office, so I went out to my car
and forgot the key to my car door
Tried to start it, and it didn't start. So I first checked the battery; it was ok
then I checked to make sure it was in neutral; it was
And I knew it had gas because I just gassed it up
Tried to start it again, and VIOLA! It started! Yippee, I was on my way. The sun was really starting to warm things up, but luckily I have a good air conditioner in my car
While driving, I noticed that the rear of my car felt mushy. So I stopped and noticed that my rear driver side tire was completely flat! And I didn't have a spare. A good samaritan saw my predicament and offered to help. He and I got it all figured out, so I was back on the road in no time
But then, my car sputtered to a stop. So I tried to figure out what was wrong with it and poked around for awhile
I got frustrated and gave up...and figured the hell with this car, I've got too many things to do, and the last thing I want to do is dink around with my car all day long. So I pulled my bike from the trunk and forged ahead with my day
My first stop was the post office to pick up a package
I had to go to the post office because the package I picked up was for my wife. She does all of her clothes shopping online to save money, and since she hadn't shopped for awhile, she was in desperate need of some new clothes
And besides, I haven't been receiving mail lately. I talked to the postmaster and he told me some gibberish about my mailbox not being an acceptable receptacle to accommodate federal mail service? Who in the hell do they think they are?
Anyway, I got back home and had to get the place ready for our afternoon company. So I fixed the steps on our porch
changed the light bulb in our living room
repaired some masonry work around the house
watered the lawn
and trimmed the hedge
I was finally ready, and guests started arriving. So I grilled-up some kielbasas
and threw some steaks on my new bbq pit
Although I had a terrible day leading up to the afternoon, in the end, I guess it was worth it. Everyone enjoyed the BBQ and had a great time. And knowing that my guests were happy, I pampered myself by kicking up my feet, lounged in our pool while listening to some kickin' tunes and sipped some fine brews from our in-pool wet bar.
Anyway, thanks for letting me vent about my day; I feel much better now.

DAMN...for a first time poster you did good!!
It took me quite a while to read it though because my eyes were watering so bad from laughing after the 3rd or 4th picture I had to wipe them before I could go on.

You know, having a CD as a gas cap, a grocery cart for cooking grates and running a power pad through the water is very dangerous, and isn't up to code. You really need to think about the consequences before doing these things next time.
Oh by the way, this is my new character "Literal Chris".....I hope you like it!
These pictures are too funny.........great post! _________________ "Don't let yourself get attached to anything you are not willing to walk out on in 30 seconds flat if you feel the heat around the corner."
