| Do you have any idea where I can pick up some seeds for these? I would love to add them to my collection! I'll have to post up some pictures of my crop of peppers. |

Black Pearl, send me an address and I'll send some seeds.
I started 21 plants before April in in a pyrex dish over a heating pad. I had a 100% sproutage and planted the healthiest in garden, then gave away the next healthiest. I planted a runt in a large container and closing on seasons end, the container plant is by far the most productive. It grew to about 3 feet and produced 20 plus peppers, the ones in the garden will be lucky to get some small ones harvested b4 frost. I do have a clay soil but the garden is heavily amended with compost and covered with synthetic mulch. I conclude the peppers like it sandy and somewhat dry in Charlotte.
They like heat and are grown in their native habitat close to the equator.
The taste tests were painful, habs have better flavor but if your going for pain these are the ticket. They do look real nice pickled with vinegar and would make nice gifts to folks that like it hot. |

Impressive lineup. I hope they all grow well for you. I couldn't help but notice that you you don't have any NM green chilis. I think that when roasted, they have the best overall flavor of all. And nowadays they range from mild to pretty hot. _________________ Brinkman Smoke N Pit Pro

C.B.,
Yes. You probably know that the best ones come from Hatch, NM. They are legendary. If you want the hottest ones, try to find the ones they call M-80s. They are actually a hybrid developed specifically for the heat. Excellent flavor and a kick somewhere between a jalapeno and a habanero but its still classified as a green chili. _________________ Brinkman Smoke N Pit Pro

I'm going to start mine in about 2 weeks at my house. I have some ghost peppers, jalapeanos, serrano, anheim and a few others. I'm going to keep most of them inside I think. But even our inside is stupid cold right now.

You are correct. The Bhut Jolokia (Ghost Pepper) is the hottest to date. But heat ain't everything. Ya gotta have some flavor too. _________________ Brinkman Smoke N Pit Pro

That's no coincidence. Hatch Valley is not the Chili Capital of the World for nothing. _________________ Brinkman Smoke N Pit Pro
