I just recently bought a new Brinkmann Smoke n Pit. Seasoned it and grilled some burgers and hotdogs for family get together, sorry no pics.

Is there anyone who has or has had one of these grills? I need help to mod this right. The factory heat gauge sucks beyond belief and I noticed a lot of smoke was coming out of the barrel.

Please help as I really want to be able to grill and smoke all of the incredible things I've seen on this board.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Sorry for the long and rambling post.

bbq4life, you mentioned the smoke coming out around the tank but you said you grilled the burgers. Grilling is direct heat (charcoal directly under the food) and smoking is indirect heat. Did you smoke the burgers or grill them?

If you grilled them and the smoke was coming out from around the door, I would almost expect that. The direct heat is going straight up.

When you use the firebox I suspect you may get some of the same with that smoker unless you have a good seal around the door.

Get online and get you a couple decent gauges and put them in at cooking level. You can also do a google search for "mod for Brinkmann Smoke n Pit".

You should find it.
