Thanks, to be honest i dont have much time in it, probably 20 hours or so. most of my work has been on the weekends, and i would go out in the garage for about 30 minutes put down a few welds or do a little grinding then go back in the house to cool down. like last night i went out and welded about 4 feet on some seams and that was it. im in no hurry ill be done by hunting season. _________________ Patio Smoker Grill

Ok, I've decided the idea of using the reverse flow plate as a "pool" just isn't cool enough for this smoker. You're just gonna have to implement a steaming system. And don't forget to provide separate valves for the two smoking compartments.
Sorry...

If i had knowledge on doing something like that i would do it. I've actually thought about it but dont know enough about how make it work correctly.

Thanks Lineman, didn't do to much this weekend, installed the intakes on both sides of the firebox, and the reverse flow plate. Need to weld the flow plate up, ill do that casually after work this week.

Hillbilly, she is looking mighty fine my Friend You are on the down hill side now. I am fixing to start a new build for my son-in-law's brother. It will be a reverse flow trailer mount. I am waiting on the last order of steel to be delivered and the trailer axle. It should be a nice winter project. _________________ Always remember slow and steady wins the race.

Hillbilly, I must admit I am not a big fan of having the heat input from the firebox above my plenum plate. I see yours is that way. The heat/smoke goes up and then has to come back down to go under the plate. I have seen a couple of others done like this and to me it seems inefficient. Then again what do I know? lol
I can't wait till you fire that puppy up and show us some cooked meat! _________________ The Wild Pig build.

| I'm a great fan of both of you, you both have some great ideas. Hillbilly I like your exhaust stack too that design shouldn't have creosote build up in the bends. It does seem like it will take more wood to keep the horizontal at temp because of the heat lost in the vertical. Just my opionion keep up the good work. |

Thanks for all the kind words, I'm currently at a standstill, my welder is messed up, seems to be a problem with voltage on the arc because it's just spitting like the wirespeed is to fast but its not, it happened right in the middle of a bead. since i last posted i installed the firegrate, the vertical drain, the horizontal drain, the expanded metal for the base. I still need to install the exhaust dampers, the latch for the firebox and vertical.
I still need to install the grate rails in the vertical but im holding off till i figure out how im going to do the door seal which im not going to fool with till i get back from deer hunting but there are things i need to do before i go, im just trying to figure out how im going to get them done with a broken welder, , maybe i can talk my buddy dano into bringing his welder over, well see. _________________ Patio Smoker Grill
