I was sitting here thinking, what about stuffing an ABT with a cornbread mix or biscuit dough? With the cornbread mix you could even add chopped up bacon, sausage or BBQ meat. Has anyone tried this yet? _________________ The Demolition Man - Demolition Man BBQ |

Never tried 'em with cornbread or biscuit dough... The cornbread variation sounds interesting...
I do mine all the time with spicy breakfast sausage... I brown and crumble the sausage then mix with cream cheese with shredded pepper jack cheese and use that in the peppers...
We also do another variation that was originally called Armadillo Eggs... Take your whole pepper, cut off the stem and clean the inside of the seeds and veins. Fill as you would for an ABT. Take spicy breakfast sausage and roll out very thin. Wrap the pepper in the flattened sausage patty. Roll this in Shake n Bake Spicy coating mix and bake till the sausage is done. _________________

how about making your regular ABT, smoke it, then wrapping it in dough then either bake it or cook it in a dutch oven? Sounds really good to me. _________________ "The difference between stupidity and genius is that genius has its limits" - Albert Einstein |

I have thought about putting cheese garlic grits in them but have not tried it yet, but then I could eat that out of an old shoe. _________________ WSM

Even just moistened cornmeal would be great. Like a spicy, smoked tamale.
You know, smoked tamales sounds good in its own right. |

You would have to wrap them in bacon or they would dry out. _________________ The Demolition Man - Demolition Man BBQ |

I was going to try the cornbread mix tonight but all of the peppers at the store were old and soft. _________________ The Demolition Man - Demolition Man BBQ |
