| I've been hanging out here for awhile, finally decided to register. I started using a Brinkmann water smoker years ago and figured that was all I needed to know about barbecue. A while back I was in Walmart and saw a Smoke'n'pit deluxe for 120 dollars. I'd never even considered owning such a thing, but there was just something about the idea (and the low price) I couldn't let go of. So here I am months later having about as much fun as I've had in a long time. I've read about and made some of the mods to my smoker and also discovered that it's not the top of the line ultimate cooker I assumed but I'm OK with that. I was a cook for years and know my way around a kitchen but this is a whole new world and I've learned a lot and am looking forward to learning a lot more. And my family appreciates all the barbecue. |

Hey there Slaque...using a smoker really is addictive. It seems like a lot of folks start this on a whim or because they got their hands on a good deal, but the next thing you know they are competing in competitions, or even better, considering turning it into a full time job!!
Welcome aboard and all the best! _________________ Joe Johnson
