If your trip allows this is a must eat one of a kind old school bbq place. There only open Friday & Sat 11:30am-9:00pm. Google the address, it’s not too far off where you’ll be going from I-26 and getting on I-96 south. If you can you’ll not find ANY better Q anywhere. The last time we went to Orlando I arranged the trip to fit Sweatman’s schedule.

bbqman will be a bit out of your way (I'd guess 5 hours), but you might want to go see him anyway for some good Q. If he knows when you are coming, he may even make something special for you! Cool I imagine you'd be coming down I-75 to I-4, so see how far out Tampa is, p.m. bbqman and see what his schedule/location is and get you some good Q from a ringer!

Our market is open this summer, and you would be more than wlecome. St.Petersburg is a stretch from where you will be though.................

Orlando is 90 miles from here, depending on the time of day 1 1/2 hour drive.

Not sure when you are coming, but I will be on vacation myself a few weeks in August and not be at market.

Bubalous gets my nod as well, not been there in a long time but the food was good.

Enjoy your trip, there are some good eats here! Very Happy

I'd drive the 90 miles for some of your BBQ Mike.. Nice day trip and some lovely scenery in the area as well...

I'm guessing you're going straight down 95. I would def. check out sweatmans. It's about as authentic as it gets.

If you are in Tampa, Big John's Alabama BBQ, located on 40th St. just north of Hillsborough Ave. has excellent Q. Make sure that you try the beans. They are wonderful.
