| New member. I came across this site and was hoping to get some information. I am going to be realizing a dream by attempting to start serving BBQ at my tavern. I want to build a large smoker and pit. Like to serve split chickens (done over the pit), ribs (smoked, then quick grilled) brisket (smoked) and pork (pit cooked). I have been looking all over for plans on how to build these 2 things and haven't found much. Anyone have any ideas or where I could look. Pre-fab ones are just too small for any serious volume. I look forward to hearing from others. Thanks alot. |

Welcome aboard! Zilla has a list of Pit builders in the Cookers section of the forum. Most of the big boys also build commercial pits, check out their websites.
Good Luck! |

Welcome to the forum! Along with the the plans for building a pit you need to consider what fuel type you want to use if you haven't already. Cooking brisket and pork butt is going to require long cooks. Unless someone is going to tend the fire all night, you need to decide whether you want a gas cooker using logs for smoke, or electric cooker using wood chips, or a pellet cooker. _________________ Mike
