The stores here do more than cut them in half, I think its closer to 1/3 or 1/4's. Either way.. You did the right thing rescuing them from the bandsaw and God only knows what cooking method.

Sometimes I mix balsamic, olive oil, and generous portion of rub, then let it sit/steep/infuse a week or so in a Mason Jar. {Essentially its Italian Dressing, except that its more Italian than that stuff sold at stores made with soybean Oil.} I splash that on before the dry rub.

New Seasons, Mtn. Park store. $5.49 per, ouch, ouch, ouch..... Mad
They were meaty, Gartner's would be great too, $3.89 but on the other side of town from me.
