Same issue:
"When the meat reaches 190 degrees internally (145 if previously prepared), take a fork and pull the pork away from the bone. Add in of the Tonkatsu sauce, and stir until well mixed."
Is that 1/2 of the sauce?
Will have to try this on the disco!
Thanks Alien, brings back many memories of my time on the rock. Spent many a night in Sinville (aka Kinville). Man oh man.

Last night I made up a small batch of this Tonkatsu and a Mexican style concoction for a test cook today on the Discada using cubed pork loin. Not using any veggies or noodles 'cause it's for a peep's choice "meat" cookoff in June. It's already the winner in my mind (absolutely wonderful, complex flavors) but will be polling the local newspaper staff with the samples, once the rain stops and I can get cooking.
Played my first two years of Little League Baseball at Naha AB. We're talking the very early 60's. I remember the Soba (basic light broth with flat noodles) we use to get as a treat at a quonset hut diner there on base, and the 5 for a penny candy we got at the mama/papa -san stores just outside the back gate. _________________ I was taught to respect my elders. The rock had a bunch of good memories. The first is my introduction to Mongolian BBQ down in Naha and the second was who knew shark fin tasted like bacon?? _________________ https://www.linkedin.com/in/michaeloberry |
