Hi, I'm Jake, AKA "Happy Dad" since I'm supposed to get delivery of a Weber LP S-670 on Monday. I live north of Los Angeles, away from all the excitement near a national forest.

I am not a good cook by any means. For 30 years my wife has done the serious cooking, and I've done the dishes, with some basic, trial and error grilling thrown in. Well, I'm ready for the big time and joined this forum to learn via the fire hose method. Hoo Wee, there's a ton of great info here!

She loves Corninsh Game Hens, so I want to see how badly I can burn them on the infrared rotisserie. I searched the forum, and found a couple recipes, so I'll give it a try. Wish me luck!

Any suggestions are more than welcome for this Super Newb. THANKS!

Welcome. I am new to the forums also. You have to start somewhere so all i can say is be patient and enjoy it. Even when the food doesn't come out the way you want. Take notes during your cooks so you can refer back and figure out what you did wrong. Good Luck and enjoy!!

I am loving life! The grill arrived as planned on Monday and I went for one of my wife's favorites, cornish game hens. The grill was easy to assemble, which made me even happier that I saved more than a $1k by ordering it over the Web with no tax nor shipping charges.

My 21-yr-old son, Steve, helped me with the assembly and the entire meal. BTW, these are two guys who don't generally cook more than a frozen pizza.

We put six stuffed & butter / lemon basted birds on the infrared rotisserie, fresh asparagus steamed on the side burner and buttered French bread on the warming rack for a nice, relatively light dinner.

The birds took longer than I guessed, but at least we didn't burn them, and we ate around 10PM. No disasters for the first try! Tonight, something a little less stressful: BURGERS! [/img]
