My two favorite brands were not even on the list 1. Koegels an all beef kosher dog, and sugarcreek foot long hot dogs. _________________ "if you cant cook it in bacon grease it ain't worth eating"

Sorry guys. If I'm going to spend my sat fat quota, I'm going to skip straight over the frankfurters and go directly for the real deal sausages.

I agree. I prefer sausages too but sometimes ya gotta have a good hotdog. Especially with a Little meat sauce a cheese. _________________ Weber OTG with smokenator

How do Oscar Meyer and Ballpark even make it on the list? They have to be the most flavorless dogs out there. For me it has to natural casing dogs. My favorite are Boar's Head beef or pork and beef.

Thanks for posting that! Boarshead are a longtime fav of mine as are the Sabbrett natural casing dogs. Oscar beef blistered on the grill are good too. I like all the common dogs in the top 20. I bunch I've never seen though. _________________ Zilla

What, was that survey run by Oscar Mayer ? Around here those are the worst dogs you can by !!! The only ones that eat 'em are kids under 10 yrs. old, cause they just don't know any better. Around here the two dog kings are Sahlen's & Wardynski !!! In the middle of winter, a couple of dogs on the grill tastes as good as steak !!! _________________ Strive for Excellence not Perfection !!

I vote for the Hebrew National Dinner Franks, if I am going to do a hot dog. I also would rather have true sauages. But a good hot dogs is still pretty yummy. _________________ Stumps 223

True sausages? Whats up with that? Hot dogs as well as many other old world deli meats are a fine ground emulsified sausage mixture. They come in real casings too. It's still a sausage. _________________ Zilla

Sahlens get my vote as well. Never would have had them if it wasn't for friends from the Buffalo area.
Hebrew Nationals and Nathans also top my list for readily obtainable dogs. _________________ BBQMAN

I bought some of the Ballpark Angus beef hot dogs to try this weekend. Not impressed at all. _________________ Weber OTG with smokenator

I prefer nathans for the norm but I'm not a huge fan of the skinless. I prefer the natural casing with that "snap"

I love hotdogs, but Oscar Meyer having what? 4 in the top 20... Turkey DOGS injected with Cheese!?!
There is no Casper's, no Miller's an no Vienna Beef!
They must have gone to the local 7-11 and only bought 20 packs of what they had!
I don't like Hebrew National either! Gross. _________________ Scott
