I cannot vote for myself. Watching this fired me up to make one as well. So I rocked one out.

My posting was more for kicks. I didn't even post the close up of the center cut. Quite a few of the loins I have seen look soooooooo good!!!!!
It is a tight race so far. So who's it going to be? Lots of them look better than this.

TogaI was just busting your b@#!s about the entry. That center shot looks great. The Italian idea is something I may run with.
Thanks to everyone for their kind words. You guys all lost...err...umm ...I mean... we're all winners here.
Seriously, this was one of the best threads ever. Thanks roxy for getting this ball rolling. And thanks to all that cooked. My thanks to the judges should be arriving at their homes shortly. Everyone truly did win though. I got to see some more great recipes this weekend. And had some fun too! _________________ Love the voodoo that Q do.

| k.c.hawg wrote: | O.K. guys here we go. We are stuffing with Mrs k.c.'s family recipe holiday dressing. Dried cornbread, dried biscuts, celery, onion, garlic, cremini mushrooms, jimmy dean sage sausage, sage, thyme, rosemary and basil.
That will be topped by cranberry salsa (cranberries, bell pepper, onion, cherries, jalapenos, vinegar, garlic, sugar and cilantro).
All stuffed and ready to hit the cooker. We'll be smoking with a mix of apple and cherry @ 240
Everything is in the smoker so I will start on the sides. I break these out a couple of times a year. Fresh steamed green beans, wrapped in bacon and drizzled with a sauce of butter, brown sugar, garlic powder, worcestershire, and cracked black pepper.
3.75 hrs @ 240-245....glazed the last 30 min with a mixture of hot pepper jelly and red pepper jelly.
The first cut.
Sliced very well.
This is the payoff.
Couldn't decide between a cold beer or a mojito so I'll have both. Ummm! |
Dude.. That is seriously off the hook..!! To bad sides dont count for the judging.. I'd take a plate of those vittles any time.. _________________ Chargriller Akorn

To all the competitors this weekend.. I want to thank you all for bringing some amazing food to the Smokering table.. I sure am glad I am not a judge in this throw down..
The great thing about this thread is I am sure it has inspired folks to get creative and try the pork loin the next time they fire up the smoker. All you guys rock and I got to say its been a blast reading and following the thread the last few days.. Most fun I have had in a while that wasn't between the sheets if ya know what I mean...
So here's my game face, a close up and a full shot.. Taken when I got to work so my whites are still clean. My chef and I had a good time trying to take this pix as it was aweful hard to look so serious without cracking up...
So do I get extra points for the hot pepper pants..
I'm a fire cracker.. I'm a pepper pot...!! _________________ Chargriller Akorn

Man, I'm sure glad I'm not a judge in all this. They all look entirely edible to me. The sides and presentations have been first-rate, too. You guys are an inspiration. And a hoot to watch, too.
Roxy, you get extra points of the boxers match the pants.
J-Man, give it a whirl...if I can do it, anyone can.
And thanks for the props, k.a.m. |
