Ring

Pigslips gave me an idea, every once in a while I think we
should give a shout out to some of the people that have made
the ring what it is today. Everyone surely appreciates a pat on
the back for a job well-done and I think today sometimes we
are going so fast we just forget.

From the few members at the start to the almost 9000 of today
is pretty impressive.
I have met allot of fine people on the Ring. Have made best-
friends with a wheat farmer in Stilwell Kansas. Now have friends
in Australia, Canada, Florida, Texas, Delaware, Mid-West, the
West Coast and the Great White North.
This all wouldn't have taken place without people like Gary,
Alien, SoEzzy.

And also a great big thanks to all the people who share their
recipes (even their mustard sauce) and building tips who
are on a list too large to mention.

To all the newbies or oldies who give so much
to make the ring one of the best BBQ sites for info
A great big Thanks
from Shamokin Pa

Great idea Boomer! Thanks for all you bring to the ring bro.

You folks are what make the ring what it is. I don't know how many times I have had questions and you folks never hesitate. It is so appreciated.

Big thanks go to roxy, k.a.m. and Candian Bacon for going above and beyond. Great friends that I've never met but kindred spirts just the same. Thanks guys!

Keep doing what you do so well. All the best.

Jeepdad

Thanks allot for the kind words much appreciated.

I am so glad you started to list their names, on my post
I started to list them like you did, but was so afraid
of letting some one out and hurting someones feelings.

And one more thing Jeepdad, make sure you give youself
a pat on the back too, you always keep me laughing or have
me watching what you are up to.

One of these days we will all meet up at a massive Smoke Ring party and fight over who gets to flip the steaks or pour the next beer.

You guys are great, I sure wish we could have a first annual Smoke Ring Rally. Making a Smoke Ring Rally in various parts of the country would be outstanding, I'd open my home up to most any Smoke Ring member.

The Smokering is the best BBQ forum there is.. This collection of BBQ freaks can answer any question, provide the information to all the questions that arise and encourage every beginner to strive for gastronomic excellence...

I can say that if it was not for friendly folks here at the ring.. Well, I would probably still be boiling my ribs before burning them on a gas grill. Wink

I can't even begin to follow what has already been said here. I owe everyone who has posted here a TON of thanks. I have learned more here in the last couple of years than I can even imagine!

You all inspire me on a daily basis. I read the posts day after day (my boss at work can vouch for that Laughing ) and continually am amazed by the dishes, sides, little details and creativeness of everyone here.

It is so great that people from all over the world can get together in one spot and share ideas, recipes, jokes and opinions. I hope the internet will always be as accessible and free as it is now.

I want you all to know that I talk about this site daily to friends and family. And that's literally how I have come to think of you all. Friends and family.

Thank you to everyone here for the inspiration to continue to do what I love.

Cheers

Robert

Boomer, thanks for starting this thread. I would like to thank all the members here on the ring for all their input and advice as well as their recipes and pics. I have seen members go through all kinds of problems here on the ring and with such a diversified membership the answers are usually swift . We have gone through family tragedy's together and had some great laughs together. I would like to also thank Gary and SoEzzy for keeping the forum running and in check. With their guidance and our help we have a, what I would like to think of as a family type atmosphere, if it were not like this I would not be here. Thanks jeepdad for the kind words and I feel the same about you, your cooks and advice are always top end in my book. I would also like to thank Tom C for his work in the cooker forum, his sticky has helped many a build. I have personally talked with several members and have helped some through P.M.s I have met a few members as well, and have thoroughly enjoyed every minute of my time. I consider all of these men and women good friends. Sorry for the long post I had a lot to say, so a big Thank You to all for letting me be a part of this great place.
k.a.m.,
Kevin Miller

I also would like to give a shout out to all those who help us newibes. You information and advice is priceless to us. Here is this weekends example. I bought a "new to me" vertical smoker from a local ringer friday night. I smoked 3 racks of BB and a beer butt chicken on saturday. I knew excatly how to build a fire using the minon method, about how long before I needed to refuel, great cooking tips, excellent rub recpies, 3-2-1, etc. The food came out great. I recived an outstanding compliment from my 14 year old son. He said "this is better than anything I ever got in a BBQ restraurant". I almost shed a tear!.

THANKS ALL!

jeepdad what about me. I'm sad. Tears. Just kidding. Everyone here and you are fantastic folks to say the least. It's so hard to thank everyone. My Q has improved so much from what I've learned here. So a "HUGE" thanks to all. Sometime we take it for granted but I don't. I went from gas and lighter fluid to kick azz smokers and kick azz Q in less than 2 years. Also nailed a couple of trophies at our comps with my daughter. Nuff said!

We all have Our moments Rolling Eyes But We are big enough to say Hey "Sorry" which tells Me We do care about each other..

I will also say You folks have helped Me from knowing nothing about this Stuff "We call BBQ" To running a full service catering bizz.Which We are currently double booking weekends through sept. Its getting busy.

Thank You all for Your Friendship.I couldnt have done it with out all of You.

And Thank You for putting up with Me being a little "OUT There" Shocked
