I acquired a couple of steel shot drums from my good friends blasting yard a while back and now I
believe I have time to start and maybe finish the drum cooker. I built a sort of drum dolley out of some
1/8'' plate I had and will fasten some casters to it.

I made the legs out of some extra angle iron I had.

Out of the extra drum I removed the bottom to make her an
extended lid, I still need to cut out the lid top that I welded to
the bottom piece.

Nice work k.a.m.! ...like the extension for more racks. Msr K.A.M. is going to have plenty of room in there for all the extras for sure!

Have you thought of adding a rotisserie in that? Shocked
just a thought. Idea

Thanks kirspaculous, I am sure Mrs.K.A.M. has Shocked At this stage I am afraid with my oilfield mentality heavier is better the thing will be to heavy for her to use. Laughing

Thanks Haaseman, I will try.

Thanks Beertooth.

Thanks Brinnie, I forgot how frustrating it is to weld two pieces of sheet metal together with a stick machine. While putting the bottom of the drum on the top and getting several blowouts I was not a happy camper and looking at my Kettle lid, then the supervisor came by and asked whats wrong honey, I explained and she said but I want my stack in the middle so git-er-done dear. Laughing

There never has been a truer statement my friend Laughing

You may have to pull out the Mig for the sheet Metal Kam ?

I have never really needed one, when I was building oilfield trucks the smallest thing I ran into was 1/8'' on occasion I would have sheet metal but I could dial that machine in a lot easier than the one in my home shop, and couple all that with I do not do it for a living any more I am a little easier to get frustrated. k.a.m. - Looks like you are really rollin right on through these builds... I think the Supervisor will be very pleased with whatever you come up with! She has one of the best pit builders workin on it so she is in good hands! Wink

I am building a drum smoker right now also, maybe I will hold off and see what you come up with before I go any further? I don't want to finish and then see yours and say I wish I had done that.. I have a Weber kettle that I got outa the neighbors trash that I was going to throw in the mix.

I know what you mean with the stick welder and these drums, mine makes nice holes though lol. I have a Lincoln 3200 that I got off Craigslist for $125.00 that I will be using on this project.
