In Houston Kroger has brisket $.99/# and HEB has brisket for $.87/#.
I bought 10 briskets in the past week. Plan on buying some more after I get paid Friday. _________________ Kids call me paycheck, 'cause i'm so money.

I was just about to call you k.a.m., since today's Houston newspaper showed packer briskets at $0.87/ lb., to see if I should bring one for y'all on our trip back home. Looks like you're covered!
Randall's in Houston is also advertising $0.99 / lb. packer briskets today - the one by my in-laws house had a mix of USDA Choice and USDA Select packers all priced at $0.99 / lb., so take your time picking the briskie to take home with ya!
edit - Randall's was also showing tri tip roasts at $3.99 / lb., and I didn't bring my cooler bag and blue ice packs! _________________ Let's hope SoEzzy can ditch his heavy hand on photos in 2016!

necron 99, thanks for thinking about me, Mrs.K.A.M. is on the prowl for a nice brisket for Monday. Those Tri-Tip prices are astounding I wish they were close enough to justify the drive. Are y'all cooking in Houston Monday? Or will you be home. _________________ Always remember slow and steady wins the race.

Yeah Cash N Carry is at 3.08. The $3.28 is for packers at our Winco, flats are at $3.79. Beef prices right now are outrageous |

jeeuz, i was just at cash and carry a few weeks ago and brisket was at $1.89 if i remember correctly. i will go hit the stores tomorrow and check prices. it sucks not working but gives me the time to shop for meat, its nice the stores are only 7 miles away furthest. i keep a good eye out for prices. my wife tells her coworkers i am cooking and i usually fill the smoker with requests. i told her this time around its time to fill it with pork since winco is so cheap right now. |

Monkey- You can get them at sam's for about $2.75 and you can request packers (at least in the valley) and I think they're only $2.29
But schnucks or dierbergs, all I ever see is $4.89 |

I just bought briskets at Cash & Carry yesterday (prices change every Monday) and they were $1.88 lb. Ribs were $1.64 lb (full spares), St Louis ribs were (on special) for $2.48 lb and butts were $1.18 lb. |

No deals to speak of in our neck of the woods. As a matter of fact the prices go up this week not down but we do have a reason for that since we will be throwing a party like no city can even come close to competing with. More BBQ will be cooked this weekend than a dozen Memphis in May's combined and that is putting it lightly.

After you pay a $50 fee for the pleasure of buying there. No thanks! For me they offer no savings at all in the long run especially if you use coupons and shop smart (the wife is a pro). They have been that price at Marsh and Kroger for sometime but this week they are double as well as spares, western, country and pork steaks. Kroger does have beef spares though for $1.68 a pound . I think I may try them. _________________ Part of the secret of success in life is to eat what you like and let the food fight it out inside.

Wow, I envy some of you guys. I just paid $1.79 per lb. for a 3 rack package at Winn Dixie and thought I got a pretty good deal. I also had my $6.00 coupon for "the other white meat" so I picked up a bag of Kingsford as well. _________________ Vermont Castings Gas when I don't have time

We'll be driving home on Sunday k.a.m. I picked up 3 tri tip roasts for y'all and 3 for us today, we'll drop yours off tomorrow along our way home.
Other folks - just a heads-up - Randall's computer is labeling the tri tips as $4.49 on sale instead of the advertised $3.99/lb. sale price.
When I went back to the service counter to complain, I got double the difference back in a refund (about $1/lb. correction).
This was after the meat dept. guy was claiming they had put a higher price because these were trimmed (untrue - I showed him the package), then claiming the sale price only applied if left in the packer's bag (also untrue - I watched them wrap these for me since they didn't have any out on the shelves). I pointed out a 'bag' from the packer contained 8 to 10 of these roasts, and I wanted 3 in my package, and there was none of this nonsense in their ad. The service counter gal told him to fix their computer in the meat department before they have any more problems, and gave me a bonus for having to put up with utter BS from the 20 or so year old meat dept. guy, who dang well should have known better himself. He just didn't expect dumb lookin' ol' me to be able to call BS on him and his dept., especially in front of a store assistant manager.
So watch what the label says, and if it's wrong, make them make it right at Randall's!
edit - for grillers, Randall's also has some really nice bone-in ribeyes and T-bones for $3.48 / lb., with 4 thick cut steaks in each family pack or 6 to 7 thinner cut steaks in each family pack. I picked up one each of the thick cut family packs to freeze and take home. _________________ Let's hope SoEzzy can ditch his heavy hand on photos in 2016!
