Well I'll tell ya what. I check around and the Weston mixers look just like all the other mixers. I think basically there all made by the same company, so no real difference, at least not from what I see.
So here is what I would do, order from "Northern Tool", I have been using them for years, a great company to deal with, they have just about everything you could ever want and delivery & service is out standing.
The price for a mixer that holds 17 Lbs (and it will hold 17lbs) is $129, the cheapest I've seen on the net $111.
So if it was me, I'd go with Northern, a proven success story.
If you want to buy from another company go right ahead, I'd say the mixer is just as good and don't worry.
I'm just suggesting that you stick with a company that has a great track record. _________________ Papa Mmm Mow Mow BBQ Team

Oh and the one I saw for $111, is from overstock.com ............
They have been known to sell defected stuff. So buyer beware! _________________ Papa Mmm Mow Mow BBQ Team

thanks for the info!!
actually i did buy from overstock and got a 20 pounder for 112 and some change. when i read your comment i called them and they assured me that it is a factory new product but at times they do sell seconds and refurbished items but they tell you ahead of time. i guess i will have to wait and see!
thanks again

I have been seeing better prices on grinders, stuffers and mixers at grizzly industrial although their selection is limited. I just got a #32 bolt-down grinder and a 5LB stuffer for a C-Note & Change with 3-day shipping.
Weston has a decent following and I have not heard of any complaints. _________________ Just remember that the toes you may step on during your climb to the top will also be attached to the a$$es you'll be forced to kiss on your way back down! |

thanks guys. i saw grizzleys product too. i will be getting a stuffer from northern cause the 15 pounder has steel gears. i am afraid of the plastic gears. if a selling point is the fact that you can buy replacement gears then i guess they must be aware of a problem.
happy porking to ya!! |
