Like others here I was looking for information on building a smoker. I found everything I needed here to complete 2 smokers! All the great people and info found here keeps me coming back. I'm still amazed at what people come up with and share here for cooking great food and building great smokers.
Awning Guy,
Thanks for the kind words! Helping others here in any way I can has also made it a lot of fun! _________________ Homemade offset smoker 24"x48"

I decided I needed a new hobby for the new year and thought I would give smoking a try. I tried to convert a gas grill into a smoker and turned a nice brisket into jerky. Who would have thought an 11 year old thermometer would not register an accurate temp?? It said 250 and my Dad said that was the right temp. When I put the digital in, it said 350. Imagine 8 hours of 350 on that poor brisket.
I found a Char Broil at HD on closeout so it ended up in my truck and I needed to learn so I Googled "smoking ribs" and eventurally ended up here. Glad I found it. |

I was recommended to go find the smoke ring as a place I'd find answers to many esoteric questions about the barbecue world.
Here I am 3 years later... still looking for the answers to other esoteric questions! _________________ Here's a change Robert.
