| i havent sealed my pits up. i do believe what most people use is either hi temp fire place rope coupled with a hi temp glue. or a hi temp gasket material available from auto parts stores. for me personally i would not seal up the firebox, start with the cooking chamber first. it may be just me but sometimes i get the firebox going pretty hot i realize the temps are only around 7-800* but eventually the material will breakdown and i dont want to feed food that has been smoked with gasket and glue materials just MHO. |
