Going to be taking a motorcycle trip through Memphis and TN in a couple of weeks and wanted to find out some good Q joints. Any recommendations?

I did a search and for Memphis it seems as if the cozy corner BBQ and the BBQ shop are what the locals eat. Anything else? I don't what quantity, I want quality. Thank you...

Memphis In May is May World Championship BBQ Contest is May 14, 15, & 16. If you will be here then there will be 238 teams on the riverfront and it is a great time. As for restaurants there a have been several threads on the subject you may wish to search for. The Rendezvous downtown for dry ribs, The BBQ shop on Madison, Corky's for wet ribs, and Interstate BBQ of S. Third St. are the most Famous. Others include Jacks, Topps, The Commissary, Three Little Pigs, and several others.
Thanks
Mike

Just google Central BBQ Memphis and you'll get a map. Cool

I have heard from more than a few that Rendezvous is a tourist trap for BBQ. From the same people, Interstate and the Commissary are worth the trip.

Be sure to let us all know where you end up going and your reviews of the places you get to try out.

I'm watching this thread closely. Later this summer the wife & I are making the Nashville-Memphis loop on the motorcycle for a BBQ run.
Last year was the St. Louis-Kansas City loop.

I will be heading to Memphis this Friday and hope to try out Central BBQ. I have heard great things about them and can't wait to try it out. Any reccomendations of what to get at Central BBQ? Ribs, pork, beef, chicken?

Germantown Commissary. Very Good. 240 South? to Poplar Pike towards Germantown. Stay straight till you get to Germantown Road. Turn right. Just past RR tracks on the left. No parking. I suggest parking in the church parking lot across the street, so long as it's not on a Sunday or Wednesday. Lots of famous folks on their walls. Take a gander once you finish eating. They also give you complimentary cups, too. Cozy Corner is good also. Just made that trip back the beginning of April.

As for Nashville, Jack's BBQ is good. Got 2 locations: one is downtown on Broadway, the other is on Trinity. Don't go west down Trinity. You'll find yourself in "da hood."

I know more Q spots in TN, but most are on this end of the state, not that end. Sorry. Sad

missionsusmc... Actually we are going to be somewhere in the neighborhood of you. We are coming to ride the tail of the dragon and the Cherohola skyway. Any good decent Q from Lynchburg, TN east of there?

Tail of the Dragon huh? fun ride, so I'm told. Be careful. Lots of rain here recently, and calling for more, so landslides, and falling rocks could happen. On the TN side, the state troopers like to pull over the bikers, so watch your speed.

Decent Q? I'm not so sure about Maryville/Alcoa area. I seem to recall a place in Athens or Cleveland, but not for sure. If you ride 129 North into Knoxville, there's a couple places. B and D Rib Shack on Rutledge Pike on the East End of K-ville (off of I-40). There's also Pup's off of Gallaher View Rd. Gallaher crosses I-40. There's one in Jefferson City, but that's a little out of your way. There's also Ridgewood in Bluff City, but that's REALLY out of your way.
