Buffet #2 at the Local Elks! If you remember the last Buffet we did it was for competition practice and to help offset some of the cost associated with competing. This one went really well as well! $15.00 All You Can Eat! The only problem was my camera took a dump right at serving time. The meal was Chicken, Ribs, Pork, and Brisket. (plus a pork loin for the chefs to munch on. ) The sides were beans, mac & cheese, slaw and warm bread. Here's a bunch of pics;
5:00 AM on Saturday
Joe's xxx sauce loading up the butts
Briskets!
The cooks treat is on, and it was delicious.
Ribs are seasoned and ready to go on, as the Butts and briskets turn.
I love it when a meal starts to come together!
Don't forget the chicken!
Right before serving, too bad I don't have shots of the end.
Here's the mac ...and.....poof!.....the camera's dead
Hope you enjoyed......we did _________________ The Double Eagle Clubhouse Grille

Food like that would make it worth the drive from Indy. Great looking chicken especially. You keep making chicken like that and you will be getting a call from the Colonel!
You know they "grill" now.
Maybe you can give them some pointers _________________ Part of the secret of success in life is to eat what you like and let the food fight it out inside.

Thanks Guys! (and Gals) This is turning into a fun thing to do before we go to competition. $15.00 is a fair price that allows us to put some money in our pocket, and gets people into the club. It's turning into a pretty good partnership. _________________ The Double Eagle Clubhouse Grille

Excellent idea. At $15 a head how many did you need to break even? I may have to try this myself. I've been pondering taking the plunge and investing in a Lang 60. However; I cannot justify the costs (my wife), w/ actually trying to make this feasible to use a large smoker that often. How did you partner up with the Elks. I have a lodge block away and this seems like a solid idea. _________________ Go, Pack. Go!!

I had $370 in the whole deal. This includes all of the competition meat, a small catering job (birthday party) I had the next day, and the Buffet. Including the cater I pulled out $680, and sold a few shirts. The profits aren't too staggering, but we are going to practice anyway so everything gets paid for and we get to put a little in our pocket. _________________ The Double Eagle Clubhouse Grille
