I have an offset smoker (Oklahoma Joe's Longhorn) and love it, but I know someone who is wanting to sell a Cook Shack Smoker model 008.I am interested, but I don't know much about it except it sold new a few years back for about $500, and I can get it for about $100 or maybe less.
So, I am looking for feedbackfrom anyone who have or had a Cook Shack Smoker 008, and can tell me how the end product is flavor and texture? Is it smoker like quality or more like steam/rost beef texture/tasting?

Because of design it's a very moist environment. To get bark the way I want, I open the door, let smoke out and get a great result.
It's different, than a stick burner though, because it's not 100% wood, it's electric and wood. The pellet versions they sell are different.
CS has a forum, you might find more owners there and you can ask them question, or just read through the comments. I'm the moderator there.
