I built a smoker last summer from a 250 gallon propane tank and mounted it on a trailer. So I had decided I wanted a smaller smoker for the back porch, and traded some PC work for a "small metal pipe" to build a good back porch smoker. It turned he delivered to me a 24" wide pipe that was 1/2" thick and 55" long. Oh well! I guess I have a new project for the spring! Now I have to come up with a bigger design than what I had in mind initially.

I guess if you made an offset with a 20" firebox and 35" Horz. I think thats a fine sized patio smoker. Just has lots of grill surface to it. Sounds like a good plan to me. _________________ Zilla

Contact Firedude, I think he is working a similar project. One thing I would not recommend is any plan that includes using this as a grill. I have one that is about as thick as yours but a bit bigger and if you try and fire it up as a grill, you can not come within 10 feet of it because all of the radiant heat. _________________ https://www.linkedin.com/in/michaeloberry |
