What a great day to Brew and BBQ! I'm smoking a 10lb turkey breast today and then I'm going to brew some beer. I think I'll brew a nice IPA with some Cascade and Simcoe hops.

The turkey is coming along real nice. I'm using apple and pecan wood along with some lump.

Here it is at 2 hours into the smoke.

Time to have one of these... Very Happy

More pics when the bird is done. I hope your BBQ day is going as good as mine is.

Ah yes, a man after my own heart!

I've got a good size cook going on today and will try to get a stout brewing this afternoon if all goes as planned.

Both of your creations look good there!

Charlie

It takes me about 3.5 hours to brew the beer. I do the all grain method with batch sparging. Then it takes about a week to ferment. Then a week to 10 days in secondary, then I keg it and let it sit a month or more. Once you have a few brews in the kegs, it's beer city 24-7. Wink
Here's a pic of my kegorator with 15 gallons of beer on tap. I like to have 3 different types on tap, Wheat - IPA - and whatever else is on deck. I have an Indian Brown Ale on right now. I love hoppy ales, and that is what I make the most. It's as much fun as BBQ'ing and the recipes are endless as well.

Here is a pic of my "High Dollar" smoker. I've had it for 6 years and I "Q" on it as often as I can. I know it well, so she and I make great days together. It's a Wal-Mart Char-Broil and it is stingy when it come to fuel. I had to do a couple patch work jobs on it over the years, and the bungie cord on the door keeps the temp right where I want it. She is rusting out pretty bad, but hey, it is like an old pair of shoes that just fit right...

I love this old chessy smoker!

The Jalapeno Poppers are on. They have been washed and cut in half length wise, the seeds were scooped out (minus a few for some heat), then we added cream cheese and cheddar cheese, sprinkled them with Southwest seasoning mix, and then brushed them with olive oil... Next time were gonna' try tomatoes! Cook for about 1 hour at 250 degrees.
