...okay, 200 of them...

2 friends and i made a road trip to a huge hardware store to do some promo for Char Griller. It was the store that started selling them and brought char grillers nationwide to about 150 of those stores.

Since it was in the middle of the week and a 250 mile trip (one way) there wasnt much time for preparation and we cooked our Bratwurst in a tortilla wrap with arugula, grilled pineapple and honey mustard sauce.

We had 3 grills going all the time and were quite busy. Worst part was that we couldnt have a beer....

Anyway, i know for sure what i wont be cooking at home for the next couple of years
This thingy is really tasty but im soo sick of it.
Next friday is another event at a radio station where weŽll feed another 200 ( = 400 portions) of it.
At least we have reinforcements there so i bailed out of the wrap thingy and will cook lots of
ribeyes and naan bread.

Heres the recipe :

-season pineapple slices with a mix of brown sugar, cinnamon and chili powder and grill it.
-Warm tortilla on grill and spray with apple juice for texture and flavour
-put arugula in the middle of tortilla
-top with bratwurst
-add pineapple slices
-top with honey-mustard sauce
-roll up and secure with toothpicks
-cut and serve, goes well in halves or thirds as fingerfood

Looks like a great way to feed a bunch of people. I will have to give the pineapple with brats a try it looks delicious.

I love the chargriller you've sold me... Very Happy

Thanks DM! I'm always looking for new appetizer ideas this looks like a winner. Ya gotta have something to munch on when cooking, otherwise the natives get restless! Very Happy

All,

If you haven't tried these bratwurst wraps yet, you need to. I made them for a group of friends last night and they just raved about them. Even more amazing, my 18 year old son and 6 of his friends also came over and they couldn't get enough. Not many 18 year olds I know will eat arugula on their brats! One thing I did differently was to do a little Wisconsin style on them before I grilled. I put all of the brats in a foil pan with some Beer, onions, and garlic and let them simmer on the grill for about 20-30 minutes and then threw them on the grill. They were outstanding. Sorry I did not get any pics but I couldn't compare to what Don Marco shows. Just assume that mine looked like his. Very Happy

Excellent,

But with those expensive looking toothpicks, it doesnt need the cheap paper plate for presentation shot.

I gotta make some of those.

It's now 96.5' outside and man do those look refreshing. The grilled pineapple really sounds great. Dito on the Shun knife, you're a pro. Cool
