I'm looking to gather as many pictures as I can to see what other BBQ places look like on the inside. Unfortunately my choices around here are limited. I'm working on an interior decorating budget to convert an existing place. Currently the facility has beige tile on the floor and tan wallpaper on the walls. My plan is to have the landlord remove both the floor tile and the wallpaper. It has white ceiling panels.
I don't plan on spending too much as other things are more important but it is something that needs to be done. |

If you're removing the floor anyway, think WOOD! Two flooring options that I've seen and like. One is an obvious choice...6"-8" wood flooring (pine is an option). The other isn't as obvious and is hard to comprehend unless you see it...plywood! Simple 4x8 sheets is easy enough...and plenty "rustic". Just be sure you use plywood and not pressure board.
Paint the walls, install a chair rail and some galvanized under the rail.
If you have room, install a simple "stand up" bar along one wall or even have some bar stools available for a stand up/sit down option. A raised foot rest is nice for this too.
Don't overdo anything. Keep it simple and clean. _________________ Somewhere in Kenya...a village is missing their idiot. |

All right, that first pic was a test and it seems that i can upload photos. I opened last and did it with $3000.00, that cost does not include my smoker or kitchen equipment. The kitchen equipment I had left over from a coffee shop. Since these pics I have added pictures to the walls.

I was thinking anything but wood because of spillage and humidity here in Florida. For the floor I was thinking painted concrete as that has become popular around here.
I need to post some pictures to show you what I am up against. 2 of the 4 walls in the dining area are basically all windows. The wall that will be behind my serving line has some existing deli cooler doors going into a huge walk-in cooler that I will use for cold to-go products. I'll post some pictures later today. |

Brain, Is this something you ARE doing??? I mean have you already signed the contract to lease the place???
If so, how about some details...how many will it seat,
what are the logistics of the place (what is around it)??
How much and what will it need to meet your needs/desires???
What is your "projected" opening date? |

I have a letter of intent right now.
My layout is between 70 and 80 people using booths. It is on a major 6 lane road and has 54,000 cars pass it daily. It already has a walk-in freezer and 2 walk-in coolers. It has about 2750 sq ft total with 1200 or so of that in the dining area.
Projected opening is early July based on licensing and permitting. |

So I found some vinyl that looks like wood and it will go over the existing tile. It looks pretty slick and holds up well. It is from Mannington and called Ashford Walnut Foxwood ALP061.
