The wife has been sick all week with type A flu (yeah we both had the flu shot) and I ended up with bronchitis. She decided to try to eat some bbq chicken today so I called my daughter while she was shopping in Greenville and got her to go by Parkers and pick up some chicken and to get me some ribs. we are closed on Sundays for cleaning.
Parkers cooks 120 lb pigs and they sell all the ribs from one pig both sides for 6.89 - I could hardly believe the bargain. Ribs were great using my sauce on them very tender and moist-I have got to wonder why they sell them so cheap-I called back to be sure it was not a cashier mistake and was told that $ 6.89 is their regular price.
unbelievable

Sounds like a good score. Hey, have your heard of Brewer Meat Distro, based out of Elm City? I just got some ribs from him for the fundraiser this past Sat and they beat SAMS case price by about .20 per pound...and they were good, fresh quality. They did have a little more fat and still had some of the breast bone attached. but the quality and taste were great. _________________ Kevin "Corndog" Cameron

Kevin
I have done business with Brewers in the past-good people
But I am still astounded at the price from Parkers for both sides of ribs out of 120 carcass weight pig cooked to perfection and pulled with extra meat clinging to ribs for $ 6.89
I just talked with a buddy of mine that said they have always sold their ribs that way-just a well kept secret

I believe that's the same Brewer clan I used to buy whole hogs from some years back. Good folks. _________________ Somewhere in Kenya...a village is missing their idiot. |
