I heard & read so many good posts on the WSM I had to get one to see what all the fuss was about. I got it on ebay for $174 + 35 shipping - no tax.

I went to Acedemy Sports today & got a Brinkman charcoal pan, which holds more water & fits better than the Weber one.

I haven't fired it up yet, too cold outside for me. Exclamation

I like what I read about it holding temps 225 - 250 using the minion methods for 12 - 18 hours depending on how much charcoal & chunks are used. After I get lined out with it, it will suit me just fine to fire it up with a butt or brisket, put the temp/alarm probes in it, and let it cook all night without having hopefully to get up & feed it.

You will love your WSM, I'm sure... It really is a great little smoker. I use mine all the time when I don't want to/have the time to/or need to cook enough to justify firing up one of the offsets...

The one thing to remember is to control the temp on the way up... bring the temp up slowly to your target temp and all is good... I went out and got the brinkman pan too and it was great the one and only time I used it... After tht I switched to using sand...

Let us know how it works out for ya...

James.

You`ll love it dholcomb1946
I got my WSM for 199 i think and no S & H charges. You got a good deal cause the prices went up to 249.00 new from most places after the 1st of the year. You fellas better snatch them up if ya can still get them for 179-200.00 Won`t last long. If your looking for a good water smoker then like the slogan says "buy the best, and only cry once." Laughing I like that part.

Hvac here`s the low down on them critters

Pic of the WSM or the sand in the pan? I just fill the pan about 1/2 - 3/4 the way full and then cover it with 2 sheets of HD foil...

Check out the Vitual Weber bullet link posted above... That should do ya!
