| We are heading to Memphis (I'm having surgery at Shea Ear Clinic) on April the 2nd. We would like to enjoy some BBQ while we are in Memphis.... what are the best BBQ restaurants there? Especially ones that their pulled pork and ribs are good. I love the pulled pork, my hubby is a rib fan. I haven't been a fan since he smarted off with a comment about riblets in Memphis in 2005... I'll let him explain that one. haha |

I am a big fan of The BBQ Shop and always reccomend when asked.
Jim Neely's, Corky's and Rendezvous are all very publicized, tourist destinations. The food is over rated.
The Rendezvous atmosphere is enjoyable.
No personal experience with Cozy Corner or Central BBQ but both are highly rated by many locals. _________________ Big Tom

If you're wondering about the riblets comment, here's the explanation:
We went to Memphis for one of her ear Dr. appts back in 04/05 sometime. My first time in Memphis, so I wanna eat barbecue. Walkin down Beale street, come across this place that serves riblets. So I ask her where she thinks riblets come from. (Think Pooh Bear.) I tell her riblets come from P**lets. She smacked me. _________________ "Never trust a skinny cook."

Sooooo how late are most of those BBQ restaurants open? Hopefully it won't take TOOO long at the Shea Clinic.
Besides we want to do some things around Memphis (not sure what since it's been a while since I have been to Memphis). Hey, I can always sleep all day the next day! (We will probably be spending all day the next day in the hotel room with me recooperating)
Everytime I get on this website and hear about BBQ, I get hungry!
I'm not really crazy about ribs (okay they taste great but I hate getting my hands dirty), but I would love some about now. That sounds really good at midnight. Hey anyone know where I can eat ribs at midnight??? hahaha j/k
Oh and I did NOT think the piglet comment was funny. |
