I wanted to make something quick and relatively easy on Sunday; I wanted to relax and watch the playoffs. I found this recipe:
http://www.recipezaar.com/Ultimate-Flank-Steak-172697
I was going to use the recommended flank steak, but while at the grocery store I noticed flatirons on sale for $3/lb, so I used that instead.
I got the egg moving towards nuclear temps for the sear on the CI grates.

Ready to carve and serve!

Great beefy flavor!

I have grilled quite a few flatirons. I really like them; especially with a rub. Your creation looks great. I am going to give that a try.

I've been hearing about flatirons for a few years, but until I moved to the midwest from Arizona, I wasn't able to find them. They are really good, and often at a good price. They're a regular at our house.

Sirsmoke is a BIG fan of the flat iron. I have had one or two of them when he cooks and they are fantastic! Can't beat the price either Wink

Looking real good there FrankC Laughing

Good job, Frank.

My parents turned me on to flat-irons this summer. You can often find them at a great price, and though they sometimes look like an ugly piece of meat before you cook 'em, they generally turn out to be really good eatin'. Very Happy
