I wanted to make something quick and relatively easy on Sunday; I wanted to relax and watch the playoffs. I found this recipe:
http://www.recipezaar.com/Ultimate-Flank-Steak-172697
I was going to use the recommended flank steak, but while at the grocery store I noticed flatirons on sale for $3/lb, so I used that instead.
I got the egg moving towards nuclear temps for the sear on the CI grates.
Ready to carve and serve!
Great beefy flavor!

I have grilled quite a few flatirons. I really like them; especially with a rub. Your creation looks great. I am going to give that a try. _________________ Stumps SW2x3

I've been hearing about flatirons for a few years, but until I moved to the midwest from Arizona, I wasn't able to find them. They are really good, and often at a good price. They're a regular at our house.

Sirsmoke is a BIG fan of the flat iron. I have had one or two of them when he cooks and they are fantastic! Can't beat the price either

Good job, Frank.
My parents turned me on to flat-irons this summer. You can often find them at a great price, and though they sometimes look like an ugly piece of meat before you cook 'em, they generally turn out to be really good eatin'. _________________ "Ay, there's the rub."

Big Green Egg indeed! Last spring I got a large and medium, and have never been happier ! This weekend, a 3# ribeye roast, and some more pork tenderloin!
