Lucky,

It is not easy to take a break form eating all of these leftover fatties, but in the interest of your post I will burp, pause, and reply.

My girlfriend loves BBQ, but does not eat pork or beef; I accomodate her with smoked turkey and chicken, the turkey fatty most recently mentioned, and most importantly, the turkey ABT (atomic buffalo turd). Cold smoked cheese, stuffed mushrooms and tomatoes are also keepin her in the game; ironicly, I am eating more of these healthier items my self.

For her ABTs (which there are ultimately leftovers that I beg for or do favors for after my pork ABTs are devoured): seeded/deveined jalapeno filled with cream cheese, topped with turkey linguica, olives, or shrimp; wrapped in turkey bacon, and sprinkled with BBQ rub, then smoked at 225-250F for 1.5 hrs.

Aversion to pork or beef is absoulutely no excuse to not BBQ; it is a hiccup at most!

Oh I still Q, but the biggest problem I have is when I have new recipes and cannot even taste them, my gf loves it though she is my taste tester along with all of family and friends. To top it off my gf's dad owns a 5,000 head hog operation, talk about a shi!!ty deal, access to free pork and not being able to eat it.
I guess the main benefit of this site is to find new ideas from many different locales. I am willing to try anything once.
I will try that ABT with turkey, but what is turkey linguica? Never heard of it.

Luckydub,

In Calif we have this product in many markets:

Any spicy chicken or turkey sausage is good in ABTs; we have also found and used what looks like a lil smokie (cocktail wiener), but made of chicken. Shrimp is great in ABTs, too.

Cal-B-Que

There have been some great posts in the last couple months
from the Ring and this one has to be up there. 4 fattie post
great job, and the pics were awesome too. Like I said before
Just don't know why someone don't get all these recipes and
pics together in a book. I have allot of BBQ books with allot of
great ideas and info in them. But I really think that some of the
ideas that are posted here like this one would blow most books
out of the water. I have never seen ABT'S in any books or moink
balls of fatties, or the BBQ bologna. And the variations on the
ABT'S could fill a book themselves in my opinion.
The best part is that people from all over the U.S and
sometimes the world post here with ingridients that are
native to their areas which is new and a refreshing change
for Ringers.
Yes maybe some things are hard to find but the people
usually post where to get them, and with the mail order on the
internet not too much you can't find today. You know what is the
best part is when a ringer posts and says I am going to have to
try that great idea.

Great job Cal-B-Que
really enjoyed your effort

Boomer

Ok, so I made two fatties last night. A pizza style and a ABT syle. Both were very good but everyone like the ABT style better. Definately will do again.
