Little Pigs,
It's called "Brown Bagging" in NC. That's where you can't sell alcohol, but the city or county allows the patrons to bring their own and you can serve it to them, like providing glasses or cups, etc. You will need to check and see if that's allowed where your business is located. _________________ Ole Hickory EL-EDX

| Hey ya all we don't have a choice in the matter we're in a dry county. We can not sell beer and we get lots of requests but it does'nt keep them from eating our bbq, but if we could change the counties mind on the subject to a place that sells beer based on %'s of food and seating I'd be all for it. The lake goers would love it and maybe spend a little more money in our county instead of the county next to us |

It's regional. In TX, beer is a definite plus, if not a definite hardship if you don't offer it. In most of the (rest of the) Bible Belt, it's probably a net minus.
Do I see it affecting your sales if you don't have beer? Not in KY, unless you go out of your way to make an issue of not having it ("get lost sinners"). Do that and you might lose a few, although I doubt you'd gain any looking down on potential customers. _________________ I likes to eat 'da pig!

| I would rather have good sweet tea or a coca cola with my bbq, anyway. I must say that I have never once gone into a BBQ joint and thought about ordering a beer. |

In my area Q joints don't sell beer, or any that I have been too around here.
I like to drink a cold one on occation, but when I want to eat Q I'm like Dawgphan Give me some good ol down home sweet tea!
Most places around here that serve spirits are the larger chain resturants like chilis, applebees, texas roadhouse and such. my family is rather large compared to most and most places like this are not setup for larger size familes. so if we go to a place like this its usualy the wife and I, and we will only go before it gets too late. My wife is very impatient and does not like to stand in lines waiting for someone to finish off there 6th beer when she is hungry. she is a small little gal when she gets hungry she is ready to eat |

I sell beer in the bottle from behind my counter. It is kept in a cooler and I dont have large quantities on hand. I sell just a few a day, too quite a few on some days. I don't have a bar even though most of my friends think I should. I personally like my beer but I don't want to have a bar and deal with the heavy drinkers if I can't join em . I don't have a band or the bar so I don't see a large profit from my beer sales. I do keep it for the people that enjoy a FEW while eating.(And for me when staying late and putting the meat on the smoker after hours) |
