So, to pay the bills I have been doing Pest Management for the last 12 years. Today I am in a customers garage when I see nicely tucked in the corner.....a Cabelas electric smoker. I decide to ask the customer......"how do you like that smoker?" We will refer to him as Mr. T. He says, "Great I smoked 2 turkeys on Thanksgiving." I think hmmmm do we have a fellow ringer here. But then.......I asked about ribs. Mr. T says.........ribs........the ONLY way to do ribs is in the oven with a baking pan, foil, water, and LOTS of sauce. My jaw dropped, I gathered myself from almost falling over. Obviously Mr. T has never been on the ring. When I left I felt guilty for not putting this web address on his invoice. Some people just don't know what they are missing. Some day he will see the light........or smell the smoke. Over the years I have been to many homes with smokers/cookers (my pre-smoke ring days). From now on anytime I see a cooker I will be sure to share stories, maybe I can bring more members to the ring. Oh well, just had to share. My smoke "habit" is consuming me. My wife says I have issues......I agree. Twisted Evil

yea some dont get it they are stuck on the "crock pot ribs".
I like to q up some killer ribs and then invite them over they broaden their horizions quickly. One of my wifes friends brought her new boyfriend over and he eats rabbit food so we invited them over for dinner and the meal was: baby backs, beans w/burnt ends, jalepeno cornbread w/bacon in it, and coleslaw I couldn't figure out how to put meat in the coleslaw?

being late to the forums puts me at a disadvantage of knowing mike, or his girl I guess.

About the topic though, I used to think the best ways to do ribs was to boil them then throw them on the grill. I have since seen the light when I got sick of the bbq locally and went and grabbed me an ecb.

I cooked some ribs for a friend for Christmas Eve this year. None of his family knew they was coming over. Well his daughters boyfriend likes ribs and says the ribs at Applebee's is the best he has ever had. I had to laugh. Well he bit into mine and said is this how they are done. I said yup Only on a smoker.
