Hello All,

Just about the time I make up my mind I see more info. What are your thoughts on the 2 mentioned smokers? The bbq galore is more but it looks like the steel is heavier anad the have worked out all the problems that the smoking pro has.

Plus they have a complete kit but we are talking we are talking about $175.00 more. Now, I dont mind spending the money as I am a firm believer you get what you pay for but I also dont want to waste money either.

With all this said we got a foot of snow today with more coming. But, I also made about 600 pounds of sausage this weekend and put a butchered pig in the freezer so I'm gettin' the itch.

Thanks
Mike

In that price range I'd get a New Braunfels Smoker "Long Horn" http://www.nbsmoker.com/smokers.html . Or better yet buy a ECB for now and save for a 1/4" pipe offset.

Gotta agree with Zilla there... In that class of smoker, take a look at the Longhorn... Got any Academy Sports stores near ya? They usually carry them...

When you get ready to move up again, Gator makes great pits, but also consider Bate's Pitts. He also builds a great cooker at a great price...

Zilla / James

Ordinarily I'd be right there with y'all. However I don't think there's an Academy near Michigan. By the time you add that much freight to a Longhorn they don't look near as attractive.

Charbroil is selling those Longhorns at Sams Club now so he could get one there. The may even order it for him with no shipping charge. It comes disassembled. Check it out.

Smoke....I actually have the BBQ Galore BBChef off-set, and I love it. I find that it is easy to get up to temp and easy to keep at temp. Frankly for the $219 I paid I think I got a steal!
