Hi,

I'm hoping I can get some recommendations of good books on BBQ and Grilling. The ones I have now and have already read are:

1: “Smokestack Lightning” by Lolis Eric Elie
2: “Peace, Love, and Barbecue” by Mike Mills and Amy Mills Tunnicliffe
3: “Legends of Texas Barbecue Cookbook” by Robb Walsh
4: “The Barbecue Bible” by Steven Raichlen

Any others and thoughts on their worth would be welcomed.

Hey OT!

I'll second the suggestion for Holy Smoke! I have all the books suggested and they are all good in their own right but they just don't quite "read" like Holy Smoke. It's more in line with Peace Love and BBQ than the others.

If you want a good recipe book I suggest "The new best recipe" and "Great sausage recipes and meat curing".

Have a good one bud.

I have really enjoyed Marinades, Rubs, Brines, Cures & Glazes--even gave one as a gift to a relative this year. Here's a link with more information on it http://astore.amazon.com/thesmokering-20/detail/1580086144.

You can probably find it elsewhere online, but I'd also suggest getting a copy of Grilling Grant's Way http://www.hastybake.com/asccustompages/products.asp?fav=&fpage=1&categoryID=93&productID=564&cartID=940919655, which I believe you can only order from Hasty Bake. It has a lot of great recipes, tips, and some hilarious stories about how Grant Hastings marketed the charcoal ovens that he created starting in 1948.

I really like these 3 Weber Books by Jamie Purviance

1. Weber's Big Book of Grilling (includes great stories about the early days of Weber)

2. Weber's Real Grilling (color photo for every recipe)

3. Weber's Charcoal Grilling: The Art of Cooking With Live Fire (color photo for every recipe, and a dozen or so recipes from BBQ 'stars' like Jim Minion)

These books are more geared towards grilling, but there are plenty of Rib, Pulled Pork, and Brisket recipes too. Plus the photography is awesome.
Makes it easy for my wife to decide the week's menu just by looking at the pics.
