Well it's a beautiful day in the great white, frozen, bitter cold, tundra of central WI and I have begun the process of seasoning my BSKD.

Y'all were right on the money with the therm opinions. My probe is reading 258 right now and the door therm is reading 120!!!

No wonder people get frustrated with these therms on the Brinkmanns.

Well I'm gonna go through maybe 2 loads of Royal Oak with Hickory and liberally oil up my virgin Laughing about every half hour.

Then it's spares and butts for tonight. Pics to follow of the whole process.

Wish me Q-Luck!

XMit

Um, how are you going to oil the inside of the smoker while it's lit? What are you going to use, bacon grease, crisco?

I used a light mist of veg oil with a sprayer. Halfway through when I had to stoke the fire I used bacon grease wiped on with an old dish rag.

Right now I have two racks of spares and 2 small picnic butts goin.
