The rains quit yesterday evening here and brought on the North winds. To me that spells no water in the Marsh and Red fish feeding on Shrimp. Mrs.K.A.M. managed to out fish me today but I struggled and we both ended up with our limits.
I did catch the largest but she by far had quantity.

| Thanks john ziske, I am thankful our weather rarely reaches those Temps. But when I am pretty sure the Tides and wind are in my favor I will go. Today I was bucking 10 to 15mph winds with gusts to 25. |

| Thanks doojr, the Red fish all over Southwest Louisiana and Southeast Texas are running hot and heavy right now. Since Mrs.K.A.M. and I aren't able to fish the Flounder on East Bay this year we are reverting back to some of my old Haunts in the Marshes around here. Just catch the weather right morning or evening and do it. |

Thanks morick, we caught these in a Brackish marsh up the Neches River around Beaumont. Red Fish are pretty common around here if you know their feeding habits. I love to fish the salt water but When conditions permit me to this is a fun trip. Shallow water Reds on Crank Baits get ready for a ride, today Mrs. KA.M. almost lost Her rod as soon as her Trap hit the water she hooked up, it was a sight to see. |

I just ran across this tread - WOW
I'm sure y'all had a great time catching those fish, and at least as much fun eatin' 'em!
We haven't gone fishing since we left Texas for the Great Lakes area 8+ years ago.
Sure makes me nostalgic - remember when redfish and such didn't have size limits (especially max ones)? I know they keep them there for everyone today, but can't help but feel a bit old when I think of that. _________________ Let's hope SoEzzy can ditch his heavy hand on photos in 2016!

Thanks necron, we saved a few to do a little on the half shell. As far as size limits I like the current slot we have in Texas 20'' to 28''. And you are allowed one over size if you chose to tag one I personally don't care for the bull reds they are tough and better left to breed. I remember the days your speaking of we would haul in some monsters and cook them down for fish balls but I have mellowed out in my older years a lot of the fight is out of me now . |
