| My wife decided she wanted an open relationship and I agreed. It sounded fun I could go and come as I pleased and everyone cheats right. Well it worked out well until I lost my friend now I find myself jealous at times ,has anyone else tried this and if so what was the outcome. What should I do find another wife because things problably will never be the same since we crossed that line! Or find another friend. I would prefer things back normal or as they were before this but my wife is young 29 and Im 39 and slower and more settled now. |

I am sure that can and does work fine with the right people.
I myself would not be part of a relationship like that, but I am sure there are many that are happy in arrangements like that. |

YIKES! There's a reason why she wants to see other men. Not to be a dick, but if that's how she feels, then call it quits buddy. If my wife wanted to see other men, then I'd tell her it's either that or me. One of the biggest keys to marriage is trust, and that just went out the door. _________________ "Don't let yourself get attached to anything you are not willing to walk out on in 30 seconds flat if you feel the heat around the corner."

That says it all for me.! Different strokes for other folks I guess.
I also like the "as long as her ahh friend yea ok does not use your smoker " comment. You gotta have priorities I guess! _________________ Homemade offset smoker 24"x48"

If I found out my wife had been… shopping around, I’d forgive her.
First, I’d make reservations at her favorite fancy restaurant.
We’d get all dressed up and have a nice dinner out, chat, hold hands, etc. I’d even have arranged for the waitress to bring a gift with desert, maybe a diamond pendent necklace, just because.
Next, we’d go for a drive in the hills, find a scenic place to park, and watch the sunset.
Then we’d get out of the car and go for a short walk, just to listen to the quiet.
We’d stop along the path for a moment to look out over the scenery, and I’d push her over the cliff.
Then… I’d forgive her. |

First, not everyone cheats... Second, you willingly entered into the agreement... So who is to blame or should anybody be blamed?

Dude, you fell for an old trick out of fear. Whether you know it or not.
She wanted to see other men, but didn't want to feel bad by hurting you ANNNNNNND have to find another place and possibly a job(if she is stay at home). YOU didn't want to say no to keep your wife as you didn't really have enough confidense that she would stay true if you said no. And IMO you were right since she had enough nuts to ask you face to face.
I don't usually say this when it come to marriage. But I think you need to cut your losses. No matter how long you can extend this it will be very painful from now on.
Perhaps just start really looking now, but don't tell her. Knowing there's SOMEBODY back at the house makes it easier to talk to other women. It's not very cool, but it's the truth. |

Monogomy is really the only way these days, You never know what you or her might come home with. I know it is getting near Christmas, But to get the gift that keeps on giving wouldn't be a nice treat for anyone!
Back in the early 1980's herpes was considered the end of the world, Now many people would be thankful it is only herpes!!
Another "Not to be a dick" comment, But how long you think she has been going out of bounds before this idea was brought up to you?
I do know couples that partake in multiple partners, but both are present and the 3'rd person is approved by both people first.
if someone os truly in love with another, seeing other people just isn't part of the program. _________________ Just remember that the toes you may step on during your climb to the top will also be attached to the a$$es you'll be forced to kiss on your way back down! |

Sounds like sour grapes to me. If you still had your grilfriend would you have had any second thoughts? Things always sound good till reality hits you in the face. _________________ He who laughs last, thinks slowest

Good post.
As much as I love women and have been known to literally have my mouth water when the right one walks through the door it just doesn't happen now with my girl. I can recognise a great woman, but I have no urges, thoughts, impulses...nothing. She's every bit of the challenge, fun, friend, partner, confidante, strong woman and lady I have ever dreamed of finding. Sharing her or taking attention away from her would NEVER cross my mind.
This scenerio is usually only a crutch to keep a relationship going. And there's usually pain for both parties, but almost always ONE hurts much more. Given the sound of the original post I'd be willing to bet which one gets the most pain in this one. |

I feel your wife may be treating you wrong. I am upset by this.
Please post a picture of her so I can see just who it is I am angry with. I also need a phone number so I can call and let her know how I feel.

I've never been the sharing kind when it comes to my stuff but if someone wants to share with me, that's cool. No seriously, swinging is one thing but an open relationship is a whole different animal all together. IF my wife and I both agreed way later in life to have an open relationship, I'd go ahead and sign that dotted line on the divorce papers......especially if it was her idea. |
