| Weber charcoal kettle. Either the Weber one touch gold or silver models. They both come in 14:,18.5" and 22.5". Depending on how many you cook for. There also coming out with a 26.5" model soon. Anyways theres a ton of info out there on direct and indirect cooking on a grill. Charcoal will give the best grill flavor though. |

| my first pit was on bare ground with stacked concrete blocks(not mortered together), 3 and 1/2 blocks long 1 block wide, 2 blocks high and then the grate then one more row of blocks on top of the grate. i got a piece of tin roofing from lowes for the top and front. i left the front open and used a piece of angle to support the front of the grill. i start the coals on the side and then shovel them in the bottom. i hold 225 all day long with only a large bag of charcoal and some hickory chunks for smoke. i have used it for years and i still plan to use it even though i just finished building my trailer pit. |
