My old boss and the clerk are coming over Monday. We're making 150 lbs of sausage. Pepperoni, potato, smoked franks, maple breakfast, hot country breakfast, and some brats.
On Tuesday we will seal them up for the freezer.
Tuesday afternoon I will be injecting 13 turkeys and will be smoking all day Wednesday. I will try to sneek a couple of pork butts and three racks of St. Louis in with the turkeys. It will probably take alot of time as the turkeys are 16-20 pounds.
Thursday is delivery day.
Isn't retired life fun?

Nothing special. Like most of the posts here, me and the Maverick just hanging out around the house. Couple of beers do a bit of nothin in the garage. Can't start any big projects might distract me from the Q, at least that's what I tell the wife.

I get up early start the meat on the smoker. Come inside start laundry, check the temp on the smoker, come back in clean house, checking the smoker in between, My mom and dad will come down if they know I am smoking meat. My father has Alzhimers so when he makes it there I pull out some lawn chairs and I sit with him and talk BBQ.Football.hunting whatever he can remeber to talk about for that day till stuff is done. Usally by that time some of my other family will come down and we just sit around and eat, BBQ is somthing my dad loves to talk about still, and he loves going to sit and watch comp. BBQ I do. No matter how we do then he always says. Man I think thats the best BBQ I have ever ate.

On a quick cook, Ill drink a few and watch the dog and cat in the yard. On an all night cook, I wont drink as I'll end up asleep next to the fire. I usually end up sharping every knife I have on an all nighter.
