Here is a great recipe for a low fat diet appetizer.
Take one quart jar of of sliced dill pickle chips and refrigerate overnight. Remove from jar and immediately dip in flour. Coat well. Remove from flour and dip in milnot. Dip in Bread Crumbs. Repeat one more time in Milnot and Bread Crumbs. Allow to rest on a wire cookie rack for approximately 20 minutes to let breading set in a single layer. You can prepare in advance and put in refrigerator for cooking later in the day. Cook like onion rings in a deep fryer until the pickles are golden brown and floating. Remove, drain, and eat. Serve with ranch dressing and/or ketchup. You can increase the healthfulness of these treats by sprinkling them with grated cheese when you remove them from the deep fryer.
This breading works great on onion rings as well. You just chill the rings in ice water instead of the pickle juice to start.
Good eating and Good Health. _________________ Oklahoma Joe's Longhorn |

Try dipping the onion rings in Tabasco before the flour. Makes them a little spicy. Sorta like Popeye's rings. _________________ Where there's smoke, there's BBQ. |
