| Got the grill and its together. Its bigger than I thought it would be. Seems to be made pretty well and has a tray to keep the hot coals away from the bottom. Not quite as sturdy as a weber but I think it will be just fine. The reason I wanted it is for chicken and chops and stuff that I dont want to cook real fast. Coals are alittle farther away from the rack compared to most others. Just had afew Ribeyes on the Smoken Joe Jr and man were they tasty! Peace. |

Make sure and post some cook threads, with pics if possible, of your new rig in action.
FYI, here's a store with lots of Old Smokey equipment & parts, if you hadn't already run across these folks.

They have a $10 off orders over $50 before shipping special going on right now.

| Used the grill today and it worked real well.Had it two hot at first. Closed back on the bottom vents to about 1/4 open and adjusted with top vents after that. I fixed Chicken Quarters. Skin was alittle blackened and crispy. Inside moist and juicy. I used Frontier charcoal with about 3 chunks of Hickory. Will post some pics if someone will explain how LOL. I guess im a mental midget when it comes to posting pics. I love this grill! |
