I,m doing a build that will have a horizontal chamber with a vertical box at the end and I know some one asked a similar question earlier in the tread, but does it seem that the opening between the horizontal and vertical chambers should be roughly similar in size as well the outlet stack diameter size. |

Welcome to the ring ekamm, looking forward to seeing some pics of your cooks and following your cooker project.
In my opinion the opening into the vertical should equal the firebox to cooking chamber opening. The vertical acts as the exhaust so giving the heat/smoke a large enough escape opening is all that is needed. On large builds I prefer at least 5" to 6" ID exhausts and only about 12" above the vertical.
