Steve,

First beautiful shots, Nice camera

Chicken-- 8 Looks very apealing to me but the dark shades undernieth make me wonder if it is burt. Nice color on the garnish.

Ribs--- 6 Might be the angle of the camera but apears very dark to me.

Pork ---7 although the bark is my favorite part, The whole apearance of the box seems to take on a dark look to it.

Brisket --8 Nice looking box, Although I might want to add a couple of more pieces in there, But that should not detract from the score, Only add to it if you add more.

Ugly Dude-- DQ --I wouldn't want to turn that in at any comp, My lord what are you thinking!!! Laughing Laughing

Just my 2 cents on it.

I'll add that I carry along scissors to do a final trim on the garnish after boxing to keep it even all the way around....

I guess they don't like parsley! First two have that, otherwise 8's for chicken, The ribs could be 7 or 8, rib pic is to dark to tell, while the meat looks to pink. The pork yummy! 8-9 maybe the bare spot in middle right side got you. Brisket 8-9, you got a 5&6? WOW! I'd sure like to try it all.

The pics make the entries look darker than they actually were. And I was wondering about the parsley as well. I havent had a call this year with parsley but got calls at every contest with green leaf.

Holy Cow Steve, with scores like that, you must have had an awsome field there.

Good luck at the next one

there were some guns there, no doubt. smoky mtn smokers, lotta bull, bubba q, wild bunch 54 teams in pro division. Overall i am satisfied. Improved my overall, brisket, pork scores from last year. hopefully next year will improve a little more.

we started with a real sharp henkels but kept flaking off the edge so i switched to the electric. I don't like the looks of a electric knife cut either but I used it as a last resort

I cooked that comp in the shade tree div this year & used parsley in my boxes 2nd chicken ,10th ribs. It was my first comp & another team actually gave me there left over parsley ( I forgot to bring garnish). I'm sure there were different judges & the boxes look good to me , so i wouldn't give up on the parsley just yet
